About Chase Pipes

Guiding the Smoky Mountain Relic Room, Chase Pipes is a respected presence in the Sevierville, Tennessee community who wholesales and retails fossils, gems, crystals, meteorites, and historical artifacts. Passionate about his work, Chase Pipes regularly goes out into the field in search of finds. His areas of expertise extend to fossil preparation and preservation, and the restoration of historical items that have deteriorated or been damaged to museum condition.

Mr. Pipes’ business benefits from a retail location within Smoky Mountain Knife Works, which receives approximately 1.5 million visitors each year. He takes pride in placing pieces of living history into the hands of people who did not realize that they could afford one.

Mr. Pipes is also a living historian who guides visitors at state parks and demonstrates what life was like in the 18th century during the War of Independence. He has undertaken volunteer work at state parks that involved the construction of 18th century buildings while dressed in historically accurate garb and using only methods and tools from the era. A lifelong student of history, Chase Pipes has taught others about essential frontier techniques and skills.
